OH! I tried making the fondant. I have no clu if I did it right. I tried making red and it was more dark pink? How do I get red?

And it seemed too sticky.

But I took a pic! I will share ASAP. And ... it tasted YUMMMMMMMMY!

Hi Erin,

I'm sure it was fabulous! Um, if it's too sticky, add more powdered sugar... If it's a little dry--add water...

To get the real red color, you have to use gel food coloring... When I tried to make red---it looked like bright orange/red to me, but I ran out of the red food coloring gel, so, go figure...

I don't think I could do it without my dough hook and stand alone mixer--is that how you mixed yours?

You bet I used a standing mixer with a dough hook. LMAO at the idea of ME kneading it.

I used Wilton red gel for the dye. I used what I had. Maybe I need to add more next time? This was mostly a "practice" run for Keeg's birthday. LOL. I need black and red for his party. Great, eh? The hardest colors to dye.

I did add more powdered sugar, but then it got stickier. LMAO.

I will try again. Hmmm... do I need to refrigerate it before rolling it? Maybe it got too warm?

BTW, I haven't forgotten about the Purse tag you did, so I'm planning to do that on Saturday... :) A major power outage today has put me behind BIG time! :)
