Kate's my little helper in the kitchen.  Today we decided to make a cake for Daddy.  With the leftover batter, we made cupcakes and Katie decorated them...

We covered the heart shaped cake with pink fondant, cut out some pink and white hearts--using rolling fondant... (click here for an easy rolling fondant recipe) Then it was time for Kate to decorate the cake...

Okay... so I put the XOXO on the cake, but the rest was all Kate!

What an easy and fun cake to make!  Daddy will be so surprised that his little angel made him such a special treat!

Oh, this is just precious! The mommy-daughter time and the way the goodies turned out is just darling. I can't wait to do these things with my daughter.

Can I get some of that in the mail too? LOL

Those are really priceless photos. Your daughter is really concentrating on those. And....she is wearing an adorable little apron. Have you thought about my TAG site??? Hint, hint.

Oh, how CUTE! The cake turned out perfect, your little helper is ADORABLE! What fun! :) This is something that is on our 'agenda' for the weekend...the Princess Nagger is looking forward to making Valentine's Day cookies for her classmates...she was making Valentine's Day cards out of construction paper earlier tonight - she is SO excited! :)

Hi Davida,

I know, I just love that Katie is so girly--she loves dresses and hair bows--how lucky am I? :)

Hi Lydia,

Thanks for stopping by--and I thought Kate did a great job, too!

Hi The Mind of a Mom,

Hmmm... I'd love to send a picture of my darlin' little Kate in an apron--I'll have to ask Julia how that works...

Hi Frogmama,

Thanks for the compliments--you are too kind!

Hi Julia,

Thanks--I'd love to send a photo--what do I need to do? Just take a picture of her in her little apron? She'd think that was pretty neat!

Hi Stacy,

Don't the little ones love Valentine's Day? You'll have to post pictures of your little one's creations! Thanks and have fun making cookies (we're fixin' to make some sugar cookies soon, too...)
